Cool tip 13: Feijoada – Brazil’s national dish
Feijoada is by far the most popular dish in Brazil. It is prepared with black beans and cooked with a variety of beef and pork meats, such as sausage, carne-seca (jerky), bacon, pork ribs, etc. Feijoada is traditionally served with rice, farofa (toasted manioc flour), couve mineira (collard greens), torresmo (pork rinds) and a peeled and sliced orange. The name feijoada comes from feijão (beans).
