Unlike the US and Canada where motels are a very usual kind of accommodation for tourists, motels in Brazil cater specifically to couples in search of intimacy and discretion. The rooms can be rented by the hour and therefore the turnover is high. They can be found along highways or freeways, but many of them are located in town.
