Dialogue script: Not ready to tie the knot just yet!

Claire: I need to talk to you.
Richard: OK. I’m all ears!
Claire: I’ve been meaning to tell you something.
Richard: What is it? I’m starting to become curious.
Claire: Us.
Richard: Us?
Claire: Yeah, we’ve been going together for nearly two years now. I just feel it’s time to take our relationship to the next level.
Richard: Next level? What do you mean? We have a great time together. As far as I know things are just fine.
Claire: Things are great, and they could be even better if we got engaged.
Richard: Engaged? Gee, I just don’t feel I’m ready for this. I mean it all happened so fast.
Claire: You know I want to get married and have kids some day and I just can’t wait forever.
Richard: Jesus, Claire, now you really starting to spook me!
Claire: I need to tell you how I feel Rick. I’m tired of just spending the weekends at your place. I want us to live together and build a family.
Richard: Claire, I think we are rushing into things here. Let’s take one step at a time.
Claire: I just need you to be honest with me and answer one question. Do you ever plan to marry me?
Richard: I do, I mean, I just think it’s too early to think about that now. You know I love being with you. We always have such a great time together.
Claire: That’s the point Rick! I love being with you too and I want us to share a life.
Richard: I’m sorry Claire. All I can say is I’m not ready to tie the knot just yet!
Claire: And will you ever be?
