Dialogue Script: Calling about an apartment for rent

(two friends looking at the newspaper… )

Tom: Hey, check out this ad here, it says two bedrooms, kitchen and living room. All furnished, and it’s close to the campus.
Harry: Sounds just like what we’re looking for. I’d really rather not live in the campus dorm. I think we’ll have a lot more freedom if we rent an apartment near the college.
Tom: What do you say we find more about it? There’s a number for a Mrs. Logan here.
Harry: Sure. Let’s give her a call. Who knows maybe we can go see it this afternoon. Do you think she’s a realtor?
Tom: Beats me! Well, let’s find out.
Susan Logan: Hello?
Tom: Hello! Can I talk to Mrs. Logan please?
Susan Logan: This is Susan Logan.
Tom: Oh hi Mrs. Logan! I’m calling about the apartment for rent on Carlisle Street.
Susan Logan: Sure. Do you study at Riverside College?
Tom: Not yet, but I will next semester. Actually a friend and I are looking for a  place near the college.
Susan Logan: Good! This is a great place for students. It’s only about a ten minute walk from the campus. Most of my tenants study at Riverside.
Tom: Sounds good. So, are you the landlady then?
Susan Logan: I am. Actually the building belongs to my parents, but I’m taking care of it now.
Tom: Good. It says in the ad that the apartment is completely furnished.
Susan Logan: It is. You have all the furniture you need, including some of the appliances. There’s, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator and a T.V.
Tom: Great! Can you tell me how much the rent is?
Susan Logan: US$ 700 a month. There’s an extaextra US$80 for the utilities.
Tom: Sounds reasonable. Can I and my friend take a look at it?
Susan Logan: Sure. You can come any time you want to. I’m always here. Just ring for apartment number 3 and I’ll buzz you in.
Tom: OK, thanks for all the information Mrs. Logan. I think we’ll drop by in the afternoon.
Susan Logan: Very good. See you later then. Bye!
Tom: Bye!
